Broken is Beautiful

Broken Pot with gold

When the Japanese mend broken objects,
they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks
with gold.
They believe that when something has suffered damage, and has a history, it becomes more beautiful.

I love the quote above.
How many times have you gone through  a loss, a hurt, a betrayal, an incident that made you fall on your knees or feel like the world has dropped out from under you. We have all had experiences that shook us up, and created havoc in our lives for a period of time.  When things happen, we have  a choice to dramatize each incident and refuse to let them go, or we have a choice to have a NEW THOUGHT.   Instead of wallowing, we can look at the uncomfortable incidences and  decide  they are really golden opportunities  layered  in our lives to provide us spiritual opportunities to raise our consciousness to higher levels. We then see the world as beautiful. We love unconditionally. We forgive with compassion.

There is a Japanese story called the “Cracked Pot.”
Everyday an elderly man would walk to the water well to bring back water for his family.  He had two pots, one carried on each shoulder. One pot was perfect, and the other had a crack in it.  A small child asked the elderly man why he didn’t buy a new pot or fix the cracked one.  He said, “Everything has its purpose and the cracked pot has its as well. When I carry water back to my household, I am also able to water my flowers along the way from the water that leaks out from the cracked pot. Without my cracked pot the flowers would die.”

Moral of the quote and story: Everything is good and perfect in its own way. All is meant to bless us, our perfections and imperfections, our  bliss moments and our tragedies.  Nothing is outside the Good of God!
You are beautiful and perfect just the way you are!

Living in a Fish Bowl

Gold fish bowl

Live as if everything you do will eventually be known.
-Hugh Prather
(from Karen Jandoff daily messages)

I love the quote this week.
“Live as if everything you do will eventually be know.”  The TRUTH is,  everything you do, is Known. Possibly not by family, friends or neighbors, but always by the Spiritual Essence within you, and the Omnipresent Spirit which I call God.  Many faith traditions believe everything you think, say and do is recorded  in the Akaskic records, for you to view at a latter date – transition time.  We can never hide from God, nor fool ourselves into thinking something didn’t happen. The Truth is always known.   If we live our lives openly, honestly, with integrity, and stay in alignment with our God Selves,we will never have to “look behind us.” be afraid something will turn up on Facebook, or secrets will be revealed.
Living a Spiritual Life is living as if we were in a fishbowl, always clear, clean and in view for others to see.  Living this way really does keep us on the straight and narrow.  Living this way brings us a comfortable peace in our heart and mind knowing we are living our purpose in a  Spiritual way and have nothing to hide.
How is your fish bowl looking lately?

Walking in the Rain

RAIN dancing in
I love my early morning walks, and today I was surprised by a drizzling of rain almost as soon as I walked out the door.  I almost turned around to go back inside, and then decided,  “Rain is sweet, rain is what this earth needs, and I won’t melt!”  I kept walking and it got harder.  I saw another woman walking as well. We passed each other and  smiled. It was nice to know we were both walking in the rain and experiencing it together.  Eventually the rain slowed down and as I got to the top of one of our streets I saw the hills in the distance glowing from the sun.  Blue sky was peeking between the clouds and I thought,    “This is Life!”
We all have times when  it feels like life is raining on us, hard times happen.  And yet as we find the courage to keep going, and keep walking through the challenges, we know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Others will come out to support us, who may be going through similar challenges. The sun in always shinning whether we perceive the clouds or not.
Take heart.! What ever you are experiencing, breathe, and know God’s Light, Love and Blessings are there for you in the midst of it all.  Take a higher hill in consciousness and look at it from a different perspective. Everything is meant to bless you once you stop calling it bad or good.
Ponder this:
Did you ever think your challenge, may be someone else’s blessing in disguise?

Your North Star

North Star
Dear Friends,

The ancient sailors used to navigate by the North Star to find their way to a final destination.   I believe, we all need our own North Star to help guide our lives, and divine destination.
In the morning my routine is to thank God for the day before I get out of bed, go to my meditation chair, say prayers, meditate and read inspirational books and/or verses.  I then do some form of exercise, walking, yoga, stretching exercises and walk the labyrinth.  However there are days when I wake up, just not wanting to complete this routine.  The pull of checking my phone or starting on my computer becomes  stronger than my meditation practice.  When I succumb to those days, nothing seems to flow right. It feels like an uneasy day, and not much seems to get done.  When I overcome the “pull” and just say,  ‘I will only sit in my meditation chair for a few moments,’  this action becomes my North Star.
I know when I sit in this comfortable chair that can rock slightly, I feel at peace, I feel comforted, I feel connected to the Great Divine Energy of the Universe.   The few minutes I think I will sit there becomes longer, prayers flow, and  meditation becomes deep. I am fulfilled and guided with grace and ease for the rest of the day. All things fall into place. My attitude is serene. I accomplish more than I had planned. All works together for my good.
Love is leading my way.
What is your North Star?  Let it be your Spiritual tool first thing in the morning.  Phones and computers can wait.
Let  God  be your North Star in the morning.
