REVERENCE

Dear Friends,
A word kept coming to me this week as I read spiritual materials and took walks in my neighborhood. It is the word REVERENCE. When I am walking I have great reverence for the beauty of the trees, hills flowers and the beautiful gardens I pass. I feel at peace and am quiet. I also feel reverence when I pray to God, Spirit, Divine Source. There is that feeling of goodness, joy, peace, awe when in the Presence of the ONE. I know the ONE is in each one of us, all beings, and in all of nature.

It is easy to feel reverence for a spiritual leader and those who do outstanding work for human kind. It may not be so easy to feel reverence for someone you dislike, or have had ‘words’ with and cannot see eye to eye. It is at these times, we need to remember the reverence we feel for God is within each being. This is the place to connect even if we cannot share words.

I remember years ago when I was first studying to be a practitioner, a seasoned practitioner told me about a person in her real estate office who continually picked on people or took clients away. This practitioner, before going into the office, daily affirmed, the God within her is the same God within the other realtor. She saw her as God sees her, a loving emissary for good in this world. In time she noticed the realtor stopped being edgy with her and did not take any clients away. Those who are the least likeable, need to feel revered the most. Ultimate Truth of everyone and everything in the world/universe is God is who they are

Again, when we see the Good, the God in people and feel reverence for them, the energy changes. We do create our world by our hearts, thoughts and words.
Who ever you have an “issue” with, family, friend, government leader, begin to see the God within each person.

One of our New Thought Principles, written by Ernest Holmes states:
” We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence.”

Today, feel reverence for all creation, from the smallest to the largest.
How Great Thou Art is in each one. Think it silently to all you meet and all you talk to.
All is Holy, All is Sacred, All is Revered.

Dear Friends,

The best prayer there is, is “Thank you GOD.” As I mentioned in last week’s newsletter, when we give thanks for everything, the energy about every situation (Good or Not Good) changes. Vibrations are higher and Conscious answers become clear.

This week let us recognize and give thanks for ALL the opportunities, situations, events that we did not pray for and happened anyway. Many of us have had those turning points in life where God gifted us a NEW path or NEW way of being. We may not have prayed for it, however Spirit showed up as a thought, a whisper, a word, a push, a pull, or a delay.

A major turning point in my life was when I ‘told’ God, at a stop sign, I would never step into a church again. I was tired of church hopping. I was absolutely done! Then I got a postcard in the mail the following week with an invitation to attend a “Reincarnation” workshop. I was fascinated, so I went. The workshop was in a Religious Science Church in Newport Beach, CA. I loved the workshop so I decided to give Sunday Service a try.
Well needless to say, that was a major turning point in my life and I went on to become a New Thought minister.

Another major turning point in my life where I did not vision, pray for, or actively seek out, was when I was reading the local paper and a news item inviting people to join the Bahai’s to plan their World Religion Day in January 2004. I looked at Steve and said, “What’s a Baha’i?” Out of curiosity we went to their meeting. We came away with the absolute feeling that we wanted to participate and so I was invited to speak on the interfaith panel, as a New Thought minister.
That turning point led us to help found the Poway (POINT) Interfaith Team.

There are just times in our lives where we KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt (even if it is hindsight) there is a GREATER DIVINE PLAN for each of us. We are continually guided. We must be continually aware and open to the NEW and the wonderful beyond what we imagine or ask for.

The direction you took at your turning points led you to where you are today. You would not be reading this newsletter now, if everything in your life hadn’t been exactly as it was. There are no mistakes made, only lessons to be learned. God is continually guiding us.
Trust – Listen – Act.

Let us say Thank you GOD at the Thanksgiving Table for ALL we prayed for, and ALL we did not pray for. Let us recognize our life as whole and complete and in a Great Divine Plan to move us forward in purpose and Consciousness.

Grateful for Everything

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God…..
Dear Friends,
A funny thing happened to Steve just yesterday. His email was hacked and the hackers were sending out false requests for help, money and/or a gift card. He worked on clearing this issue with a techie friend. Of course we were shocked that this happened and yet there was a blessing in this incident. We received SO MANY phone calls, emails and texts saying they would be happy to help us, but were concerned Steve’s email was hacked. Both of us, at a moments break, realized how many loving friends we have and how willing they are to step up when someone is in need. We felt loved, cared for and supported. Advice was given and we happily received it.
Give thanks in all circumstances
Today I needed to get help from a techie at Constant Contact because I could not log in to my account. The first techie was not able to help me. The second techie was able to help, and finally cleared up the errors and helped me create a new password. While he was working on his end, I looked out my window at the beautiful fall trees and gave thanks. I was grateful to be able to call on someone to help me, even if it took two people, and I appreciated his knowledge and patience.
Give thanks in all circumstances
It just reminded me that no matter how upsetting a situation is, in our lives, there is always a silver lining, a blessing, a possibility of good from it. Rev. Thomas Shepherd said in his article in the ‘Daily Word’ magazine, “I can’t always be thankful FOR my circumstances, but I can always give thanks DURING adverse and challenging times. Giving thanks positively affects the thanksgiver.”
We are coming up on Thanksgiving in a week, so what better time to be grateful for both the joys and hardships. We are grateful for our joys, and are grateful for the beneficial lessons learned from our hardships.
Maybe at your Thanksgiving table you can share your gratitude and blessing as you move through:
  • the pandemic
  • the aftermath of the election,
  • the quarantine with family,
  • the love and support of family and friends,
  • the learning how to zoom with distant relatives and friends
  • and more.
Every experience we have is designed to help us, support us, guide us or move us forward in learning and consciousness. What I have noticed is how wonderfully kind people are. We realize we are going through this “stuff” together. People are more patient on the zoom calls when someone has difficulty sharing a screen or not muting or unmuting when necessary. People give each other the space needed in the grocery and big store lines.
Neighbors are checking in to see if people are OK and have enough.
We are in this together and doing it not just for ourselves, but for and with each other.
Keep your spirits up by intently recognizing the gifts, grace and blessings in every situation. The more we recognize the spiritual potential of every experience, the more good we will continue to find and be grateful for.

Soul of Our Nation

Dear Friends,
The Soul and Vibrational Energy of our country has been through trials, tribulations, strife and stress.
We have a new President and a new Vice President. Many Americans are elated and others sad. We need to come together now greater than we ever have before, and heal the wounds and divisiveness in our country. It is time to remember our Oneness, our Divinity and our being part of this great Human Family. Let us all pray for our new leaders to stay in integrity, move forward with honesty to serve the American people in the highest and best way for our nation.

We as spiritual leaders are the peacemakers. Let us be the healing balm to family, friends, co-workers, strangers and our spiritual
community. All are in Gods circle of love, compassion and forgiveness. There are no outsiders in God, so let us continue to be open,
receptive, inclusive and keep our hearts and mind open to everyone.

See Your Vision

Two quotes I want to share with you from Dr. Ernest Holmes in the October ‘Science of Mind’ magazine.
“As we listen to the divine wisdom within, we receive inspiration and guidance.
As we speak our word, think our thoughts or make our affirmations with complete conviction, we discover that we are using a power that actually IS and that actually DOES RESPOND to us. The Spirit within us is God, the infinite Source of our intelligence and wisdom and creative power.“
“Deeper than our mind is the Spirit…  From this universal reservoir a power passes through our minds into action. When the mind is peaceful and still, it catches a vision of this greater good.  While the mind is in turmoil and combat, 
it cannot receive an image beyond the limiting circle of the small measure it has been treading around.”
What wisdom or guidance are you seeking today? Know God, Spirit always listens to you and responds to you.  How convinced are you, Spirit is acting upon your thoughts, words and feelings?
Be conscious in your own mind of your traveling thoughts, moods, angers
or angst.  Then…
Be still, peaceful, calm in quiet prayer and meditation to shut out the turmoil in the world for just a few moments.
Be clear in mind so as to receive guidance, purpose and truth.
Be a Visionary for the new world.
This world is going through a complete REBOOT and will never be the same again.
What is it you wish to be in the world after the REBOOT?
What is is you wish to do after the REBOOT.
What world do you wish to live in?
Remember our ultimate goal is LOVE.  Can we love everyone and everything?
What would our world look like if LOVE was the force and energy behind all actions and purposes?
What would our government look like?
What would the leaders  & governments of the world look like?
How would we take care of all humanity, animals  and Mother Earth for the greatest good?
Those are the visions we need to keep in our conscious mind and affirm with words and feelings everyday.  We have the God power within us to change and make changes. Let us use this creative power wisely for the good of all.

Nothing is Too Wonderful to Happen

Years ago, while a ministerial student, I had a theme song, “Nothing Is Too Wonderful to Happen.”  I was thinking about that song and two major events that just took place in Steve and my life. Even in the midst of all that is going on, miracles happen and God as Good is always flowing in and through all.
We officiated at a beautiful wedding Oct. 10th for a  beautiful young woman and her fiancé living in North Carolina.  It was our first virtual wedding. This young woman has scoliosis and has been in back braces, special chairs and did exercises for years to help decrease the curve. However the pain never went away. She had a groundbreaking spinal surgery one year ago and through the pain of recovery and rehabilitation she has come out on the other side strong, happy, pain free and secure. It was our honor to co-officiate at her wedding.
Nothing is too wonderful to happen.
Nothing is too good to be true.
Nothing is too good to last for ever
Every thing is possible to God through me and you….
We became grandparents on Oct. 12th. Our daughter, age 40, and her beloved are now parents of a sweet little baby girl. We are all so excited and happy. We almost lost faith and hope of becoming grandparents, and yet here we are!
Nothing is too wonderful to happen.
Nothing is too good to be true.
Nothing is too good to last for ever
Every thing is possible to God through me and you….
There is nothing GOD cannot do through me and you.
What is it you are praying for?
What is it you are hoping for?
What is it you think may never happen?
God’s timing is  always right.  Some people in our New Thought tradition do not use the word HOPE because it implies one has little faith or doubt.
Sometimes hope is all we have when the end is not in sight, or the road is bumpy and long.
Our minds can change the THOUGHT about HOPE.
H – HOLY Being
O-  I know I am OF you. Your DNA is in me.
P –  All Things are POSSIBLE with You
E –  EVERYONE, including me, is filled with Divine Possibilities
Holy One Pour your Energy in me.
Holy Spirit Of All People is Everywhere.
Happiness is Everywhere about us

Harm No One

Happy October!  This is the month of Halloween and the Pagan Holiday Samhain.
I want to introduce you to a colleague  and friend of mine, Rev. Devra Gregory,  a Wiccan High Priestess, Alchemist, Ritualist, Healer, Massage Therapist, Drummer.
She was one of our presenters at the NAIN 2017 Conference.  She is writing a chapter for Steve’s new book and I asked her if I could copy part of her chapter for this newsletter.  I truly believe all faith traditions are important and the Pagan/Wiccan one seems to receive the least amount of attention and has been abused and misunderstood in the past.
It has a deep caring for ALL Beings and love for Mother Nature.
Thank you Devra for helping us have a greater insight into the Wicca tradition, which has many similarities to New Thought.

“In Wicca The Goddess is the primary Deity with her consort being the male form of God. He is in service to the Divine Feminine, the creator of life. Women are accepted into Spiritual Leadership roles and may lead in other types of Pagan ritual. The term “Pagan” as well as “Witch” has had incorrect connotations attached to them. Pagan means “people of the land” or county folk. Witch comes from the Gaelic root wic or wiz meaning “to change.” Wizard also comes from this root meaning. So, what is magick? (magick with a “K” distinguishes it from stage magic) Magick is changing matter with ones focused will. In quantum physics we see that matter actually does undergo a pattern change when influenced by intentional, focused thoughts. Our thought sends out a spark of electricity and is not contained just inside our heads, but flows outside of us, too. We are all floating in a sea of vibration, in fact WE are vibrating energy. Humans are magnificent energy generators and receivers. In practicing magic, a Wiccan understands how important it is to control their own thoughts and consciousness, to direct the outer realm. Wiccans know that thoughts are “things” and the more focused the intention, and, the more we raise our energy up in natural ways like drumming and dance the better our prayers/spells land. Spells are really just prayers with some extra “bling.” Herbs, incense, charms, candles and other gifts from nature are used in a sacred way, utilizing each’s unique frequency to be synchronistic with the intention of the ritual. Witches do in fact create change. Healing is change, releasing unproductive habits and thoughts is change, shifting from the ego mind to the heart centered soul is change. Many other religious practices utilize this information, they just call it something else like manifestation or even miracles. So, when someone says “be careful what you wish for” they are reminding you of the powerful magic of your thoughts!
Wicca has no book of law only guidelines for the way we live our lives. The one basic tenant called The Wiccan Rede states, “Let it harm none, do as thy wilt.” In other words, do what you want just don’t hurt anyone else: it’s the golden rule. There is also the law of three- What you send out returns to thee by all the power of 3. This is the law of cause and effect, AKA Karma in the Hindu tradition.
Like other indigenousness cultures from all over the world, Wiccans accept there is life force in everything and each has its own vibratory pattern: plants, rocks, gem stones, herbs, trees and each of us, too. So, respecting all of life and honoring the miracle of nature is paramount to a Wiccan. We are peace loving, nature worshiping, Goddess/God Loving (not fearing) people.”

Turn Up the Voice of Spirit

Dear Friends,
At this time in the world, when fear permeates the air, with news and social  media, we need to turn that volume down and turn UP  the volume of Spirit in our heart to love, live life with joy, and happiness.
We need to get back to basics and KNOW:
1. God is all there is. Peace, Power, Love, Wisdom, Intelligence, Guidance, Goodness,  Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omniactive, Omniloving EVERYWHERE in all and through all.
2. All that God IS reigns within me/us. That peace, power, love, wisdom, intelligence guidance and goodness  is always available within us, ready to be heard and felt. When we accept this Truth we are connecting with our own Divinity and Uniqueness.  We are all loved equally regardless of faith, culture, race, politics or country.  We each have our own path and choices to make.
When we rely on the inner Wisdom and Direction of our own Spirit (God,
Source, Creator) we can easily move into action when directed.
The still small voice (God intuition) within is ready to be heard.  When our world is quiet and meditative. we can hear it.  Listen for it everyday.  There are times when we have not listened to it, and we say “Dang, I knew I shouldn’t have done that or gone that way.”
Today turn UP the God volume, 
by turning down the TV, radio and other media.
Listen to what is YOURS to do today.  It will bring you happiness, joy and
 you will feel fulfilled and purposeful.

Bringing the Light

Dear Friends,
The other day I sat down to my computer to make a few edits on the talk I was going to give on an Interfaith Women’s Panel during International Peace Week.
As I clicked to SAVE, it wouldn’t save and kept saying my document was a READ ONLY.  I checked my emails and couldn’t send or receive.  It was only a few hours before I had to get on to the zoom call and my computer seemed to be stuck or stopped. Now What!!!??? Almost panicking, I called my “go to techie friend” Don, and his simple reminder was to shut down and REBOOT.
Duh!  Why didn’t I think of that.
This reminded me that right now our world, our earth, our people are in a REBOOT. We have shut down during this pandemic because of the flaws, errors, glitches in our human system. However looking at the world and all the trauma, anger, and the divisiveness I had forgotten there are so many GOOD people in the world doing wonderful works and being in loving service.  YOU and so many people around the world are truly bringing LIGHT,  LOVE and the GREATER GOOD back to this planet. Your care for others is switching on the LIGHT and REBOOTING our planet and our people. For LIGHT always eliminates darkness. LOVE for others is always the answer. That is the truth.
The old thoughts, and systems, are passing away. The new thoughts and equity for all is happening. We as a human race are changing. We cannot remain as we were.
People in every system are looking at ways to make changes for the greater good, in education, police reform, government, businesses, banks, and more. YES, there are still those who are fighting to keep the old ways, however we know change cannot be stopped.  BE the Change. REBOOT whatever system you are a part of and know you are being Guided to do what is right for one and all.

What Are Your Highest Ideals for America?

What are your highest ideals for America, the world and humanity?. We know what you think about, you bring about.  God gave us a creative mind and the free will to use it. We have the responsibility to use it wisely. The energy that goes out from our thoughts and our feelings creates our reality and the reality of others.  We truly do contribute to each atom, cell and molecule of everything on our planet, our humanity and the universe.  When we truly believe we can make changes with our hearts and minds, it will come about.
I attended ‘One Heart One Mind CSL’ service last Sunday.  I loved the story
Rev. Michelle Ingalls shared.  “Villagers came together to pray for rain. Everything was dry and they desperately needed rain for everything to grow.  Once they were all assembled the prayers began.  Then a small boy appeared in the group. He was the only one who had an umbrella.”  He truly believed it was going to rain.  How much faith and belief do we have in these turbulent times?
Can you believe and affirm...
I am healthy, safe and responsible. I wear my mask for myself and others.
My family and friends are healthy and safe.
I see only GOOD coming from this pandemic.
I believe the new vaccine will work and available now!
(Declaring, & believing ahead of time signifies faith and belief, just like the little boy with the umbrella.)

The Higher our Ideals, and Values are, the closer we are to using  and being our Christ /God Consciousness.  The more we claim these High Ideas and Values the more High Energy vibrates out into our personal world and the universal consciousness.  We are all connected.  Myth says when a butterfly flaps its wings there is a storm somewhere else on earth.  We must truly realize our impact on our society and the world.  Each one of is here to make a difference.  The tools we have are our internal thoughts, God Intuition, Guidance, feelings and action.
