Are We There Yet?

Dear Friends,

How often have you asked the question… “Are We There Yet?”
I remember as a child my parents and I would drive from Illinois to Pennsylvania to visit my grandparents and I know along the way, I asked
“Are we there yet?” The drive seemed soooo long.

Waiting in anticipation for a loved one to arrive, a celebration to happen, or the word about who got the promotion always seems to take soooo long.
There must be something in our genes, that makes us always pushing towards the next step, the next idea, the next event as quickly as possible. We can hardly contain ourselves.

It is also a challenge to wait for a prayer to demonstrate. We are impatient because we want everything to happen now. The truth is, every word, every thought, every prayer is always answered in the NOW in Divine Mind. In God there is no delay only Divine Timing. Our human timeframe is different. We need to remember all parts of the prayer are being worked on behind the scenes. Rev. Christine Green says,
“Progress is happening on an inner level where we can’t see.”
(December ‘Science of Mind’ magazine)
In the early 90’s I prayed for a spiritual partner in marriage. I met him in 1999. The timing in 1990 was not right, my partner was still in another state and in another marriage.

Here is something to ponder. We are never there, and yet always here. Even if and when we “get there,” we are still here, at this moment in time that does not have a past or a future. It is called living in the NOW moment as Ekhart Tolle often said. When we feel the compulsion to ask “Are we there yet?,” let us turn those words around and say, “There we are!” or “Here we are.”

Let us pray, and affirm what we want by saying,
“Thank you God for All this and or something better in the right time
and in the right way!”
Doing this takes the anxiety out of waiting. This means we accept Divine Delay in all aspects of our life because God has something better planned.
Remember how long it takes a flower to bloom after planting the seed. We plant prayer seeds knowing it will bloom and demonstrate when ready.

In my car ride after asking “Are we there yet,” my parents would explain the number of hours it takes to drive and show me the clock. I could see about when we would get there. Then we would play the car games of “How many red cars do you see? Who can spot a green truck? What rhymes with……? Doing something fun diverted my attention and then the drive was a snap!

We too can divert our anxious thoughts by KNOWING God’s timing is always perfect. We have faith in the outcome KNOWING it will be right and true for us. We can move forward KNOWING and believing we are HEARD and God has answered us in the right time and way for our highest good.
SNAP!

Write a NEW Story in 2022

Dear Friends,
Welcome to the New Year! I am excited about this new year and all the possibilities and potentials it holds for me, for Steve and for YOU.

There is just something about starting over, and beginning again that sets my heart and mind on a new path. It is like opening a new book and reading it
for the first time. Each chapter holds excitement and new possibilities as the narrative continues.

This New Year can open a new chapter in your life. Only YOU get to create
the STORY! How exciting do you want your story to be this year? Will it be
full of drama, mystery, romance, new skills, new adventures….? Remember what ever life in 2021 brought to you, it does not have to set the precedent for 2022.
Ernest Holmes said
“Principle is not bound by precedent. There is no law in the Universe that seeks to perpetuate old limitations, but there is a Law which responds to our greatest
vision at the exact level
of that vision.”

Every day, every week, every month is NEW. Create a new story with a new vision. Perhaps instead of writing out a long list of “goals,” this year, write a story
about what you would like your life to be, imagining fascinating ideas and people. Bring in other characters, new to you, ones you have not met yet. How would you
like them to show up? This is the time to let your imagination soar and rise above human conditions. You are the co-creator of your life. God within is your partner
and gives you the tools, (affirmative prayer, meditation, word power, competence, aptitude, skills and capability) to write, and act in your own life story.

Humans are not ideally set up to
understand logic; they are ideally
set up to understand stories.”

Nothing is Too Wonderful to Happen

Dear Friends,

The year 2021 is ending, and a brand new 2022 year awaits us. I am looking forward to it and all the wonderful possibilities of good happening. I was looking at an
old Vision Board one morning and saw things that had come to pass and others still waiting to be demonstrated. On the board I had glued on a phrase
(I don’t remember which magazine or the author) saying,
” Nothing is Impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m Possible!”
Years ago as an intern minister, my mentor and teacher, Dr. Juanella Evans told me to choose a favorite song for our pianist to play while I walked up to the lectern.
I chose the song, “Nothing is Too Wonderful to Happen.”
I still love that song. Here are the words.
” Nothing is too wonderful to happen,
Nothing is too good to be true,
Nothing is too good to last forever;
Everything is possible to God through me and you.
Happiness is everywhere about us,
So let us all happy be;
There are no dark clouds to frown upon us,
The sun will shine wherever we may be.
To the left, to the right,
Look around, see the light.
If it’s smiles you spread, then it’s smiles you’ll meet,
And a song in your heart put wings on your feet.
Nothing is too wonderful to happen,
Nothing is too good to be true,
Everything is possible to God through me and you.”
You may be thinking , “There are just some things I can’t do.” However God says, “Yes you can!” Read the list below. Have you ever said any of those things?
Switch your mind set and affirm what God says. Your word is your power. The more you say it, the more you believe it, the faster your “possibilities” happen.

As you prepare for the coming 2022 year, stop a moment and reflect on your life. What is it you really want? Believe in those things.
Be grateful even before they demonstrate.
What would put a smile on your face?
What would make you happy?
What would make your heart sing for joy?
Create a Vision Board with wonderful “possibilities” knowing nothing is too wonderful to happen. Even if you think something is ‘top of the line’ wonderful,
always leave room for God to create something even GREATER than what you imagine. Your words, thoughts, and imagination are your creative power.
Say it, Believe it, Be Grateful for it, Manifest it!
Remember:
” Nothing is Impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m Possible!”

Affirming All Wonderful Possibilities,

Abigail and Steve

Love Consciousness- A Gift to the World

Dear Friends,

This week on December 25th we celebrate the birth of
Jesus, anointed ‘The Christ.’ whose mission was to bring LOVE, Compassion and God Consciousness into the world. His Consciousness spread throughout the world at that time, over 2,000 years ago, and continues to spread throughout our world as well. He was and still is the Master Teacher, the Way Shower to raise our consciousness to one of LOVE.

Every person is God in form. Every individual can be a Way Shower with his and her unique talents, skills and abilities to spread the Love of God, the Love of Christ and to be Christ Conscious. Jesus the Christ told us we are ONE with God and ONE with each other. We are to unfold the GODhood within us and to express such qualities of peace, kindness, reverence, service and love for each other. We are to see the “other” as God and as ourselves. Above all each one is to BE him or herself. Like every drop of rain or snow flake, each one is different, unique and has a tremendous gift to offer the world, just as Jesus the Christ did.

Love God, Love Yourself, Love One Another!

His journey in life was not easy and our life is not always easy either.
What do we have in common with Jesus the Christ?

Life’s journey has challenges to promote our growth spiritually.
The walk is easier with loved ones.
When obstacles and challenges come, turn to God.
Giving birth to a new way of living, a higher consciousness can be painful, yet worth it.
A NEW idea will guide you to a NEW life, purpose, and consciousness.
Staying true to your heart and being authentic will make waves in the world.
People, wise and humble will come into your life with unexpected gifts acknowledging who you truly are.
You will make a difference in the world, leaving it forever changed.

Stars guided the Wise men and Shepherds to the Christ, the New Consciousness. Your Star within will lead you to a New Consciousness and New Outlook in life. Are you willing to raise your consciousness to LOVE and all aspects of LOVE? Are you willing to allow LOVE to be your guiding light whatever you do, and whomever you meet in life? If Yes, you and Jesus the Christ have something in common.

Take 18 minutes and watch this beautiful video “The Christ Child.”

Have an AWEsome Day

Dear Friends,

I was meditating while looking out towards the hills behind our house.
The hills were a glow as the sun shone on them. The song I heard in my head was “The hills are alive with the sound of music.” I had one of those “suspended moments” when time stood still. I was in AWE of the light on the hills and the dewdrops glistening on the trees and bushes. I sat in AWE of those hills looking at God’s creation. It all looked magical and mystical. At that moment everything seemed right with the world. And in that moment everything was right. I knew God was in charge. God within directing me and God without, being everything visible and invisible.

I am sure you have had those moments of AWE in your life. And maybe like me, you want more of them. Well, you can. Just as I did, take a moment to suspend time, stop effort, take a breath, be in AWE of God’s beauty. I know you will have A Wonderful Experience! It will feel like you are in God’s time, where you feel a sense of peace, and an intuitive knowing that God loves and knows you.

Years ago when I first came into New Thought, I had an intuitive knowing while in a small group. The thought came to me, “God knows your name.”
I almost broke into tears, thinking God knows my name and even more, God loves and cares for me. God is with me all the time. It was like a flood of light flowing through me.

This week, suspend your busyness in shopping, wrapping, going, doing and just be in AWE of the wonder of God’s creation. It will move you into a new awareness. There is a little quote (unknown author) I came across years ago, and it says:

“GOOD MORNING,
This is GOD. I will be handling
all your problems today. I will not
need your help, so have a good day!”

Have an AWEsome day. God is still in charge.

The Diamond Connection

Dear Friends,
Today I want to share a story I read in the Dec. Science of Mind magazine.
The Story of Indra’s Net.
“To keep it simple, Indra, the Hindu Lord of the heavens, invites Buddha to his heavenly palace. Wanting to impress his guest, he orders thousands of diamonds to be brought in and strung on each knot of a giant net that covers the walls and ceilings of the palace. When Buddha arrives, he steps into the great room, he gasps and he dances to the middle of the room with awe. He exclaims to Indra how perfectly his net captures the nature of reality. Every gem reflects the same light. Even when you move a gem, the movement is reflected in all the others. And so it is with us – every action we take is reflected throughout all humanity. Every action makes a difference. Indra was so moved that he began to cry great tears, and he said, ‘This web is too important. It’s not meant solely for my eyes, but it is for everyone. All must know this.’ He then pulled it down from the ceiling and the walls, and he took it out to his balcony and flung it mightily into the sky. And today, the stars, or Indra’s net, remind us we’re all connected. Every action has a ripple effect. And the telling of that story might remind others of our innate connection.”
This is such a beautiful story that reminds us how interconnected we all are.
What a wonderful time to remember this truth as we are immersed in this Season of Love. Every time you THINK a kind thought and FEEL love in your heart, it is automatically felt, and inwardly heard by everyone. YOU are God’s love diamond connected to all of God’s other love diamonds. YOUR actions of compassion, empathy, and caring spread out into the world. YOU are moving in, among, and along with all other gems in this universe. YOU are precious, treasured and an influencer in the Great Whole.
BE LOVE, DO LOVE, THINK LOVE, FEEL LOVE.
Blessings, Abigail and Steve

HOPE

Dear Friends,
December is here and Christians and many New Thought Churches and Centers honor the Advent Season. This is the four weeks before Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus the Christ, the Master Teacher. Advent
is a time of preparation and remembrance in Consciousness. In New Thought we honor the Advent Season by recognizing the birth of Jesus as the Birth of the Christ Consciousness within each one of us. Many traditional churches are waiting for the Christ to come again. In New Thought, we believe the Christ comes within each one of us as God Consciousness. We are the ONE we have been waiting for.
Rev. Steve gave a wonderful message at The Unity Center in Mira Mesa this past Sunday on the message of HOPE. Reflecting on Hope is the first Sunday in Advent.
Faith is the second Sunday.
Joy is the third Sunday.
Peace is the fourth Sunday.
I smile because I am reminded of these beautiful essences in simple ways.
We just finished decorating our house for Christmas and I have candles with the words Peace, Love and Joy on them. I have finger tip towels with the words Joyful, Merry, Believe and Peace on them. I am constantly reminded to keep my heart and consciousness on one or all of these vibrations daily!
The past two years, we have all been through many changes, and we will continue to go through changes. It is part of our life cycle. Facing any challenge, we can dig deep within to find HOPE. Hope is the first step to FAITH. With Faith, we let go of fear, and we resonate with JOY. With Joy comes PEACE, the Peace that passes understanding, for then we have a glimpse of our God Nature, LOVE.
Enjoy this season.

GRATITUDE is a Way of Life

November 23, 2021
Last week the POINT Interfaith Team hosted a beautiful Interfaith Thanksgiving Service with the theme: “Gratitude for Those Who Came Before Us: Standing on Their Shoulders.” It was inspiring to hear the many faith speakers share how their ancestral leaders paved the way for them to be and live here today. This Thanksgiving let us remember who paved the way for us; our ancestors, parents, grandparents, other family members, and friends etc. Every person, and event in our lives prepared us and molded us into WHO we are today. There are no accidents, only Divine Purpose to elevate, expand and enlighten our consciousness as spiritual beings.
When we sit down with family, friends, or a welcomed stranger this Thanksgiving, let us give thanks for them and for so many others such as;
  • Farmers who planted and harvested the crops.
  • Deliverers who brought the food to the stores for us to buy.
  • Workers who organize the stores and help us at the check out.
  • Everyone who makes our lives easier; the construction workers, electricians, engineers, delivery people, waste pickup people, teachers, medical staff, Holistic practitioners, faith leaders and many more.
Perhaps in your quiet prayer time you could write down all those who came before you and those who are keeping your life comfortable today. Send them love, gratitude and see them as Light Workers whose shoulders you stand on.
We have so much to be grateful for and GRATITUDE needs to be an everyday attitude and activity. The November ‘Daily Word’ Magazine said, ” I don’t need to wait for a special day to give thanks. Gratitude is a way of life, a commitment I make to find the good in all situations…”
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving and every day of the year!

BREATHE…Just BREATHE

Dear Friends,

Breathe…… Just Breathe

Breathing is our very life. It is what keeps us here on earth. It is the very breath of God flowing in us, as us, and through us. Breathing is an automatic way to keep us alive and well. Breathing is also a way to be mindful in all situations. There are times when we are with people who irritate us, push our buttons or are just unkind. In those moments, if we are mindful of our breath, we can slow it down. For as we slow our breath down, inhaling and exhaling deeply, we also notice our body responding. Our body becomes more relaxed, calm and in control.

I was reminded of my breath recently when I felt irritated towards someone and had to just breathe quietly and peacefully. I allowed my body to become undisturbed by the events knowing I would be guided to respond in the highest way possible. Another time, when someone almost made me feel small and unwelcome, I breathed. When the person realized how sharp tongued she was, she apologized. We all have these moments when we need to allow ourselves
to step back and breath deeply, quietly, serenely and purposefully.
We not only help ourselves, we help others retain a sense of dignity and a realization of their actions.

Breathing is our essence. When meditating we breath slowly, and consciously to help us reach that INNER SPACE where we tune in with God, Spirit, the essence of our ONEness.

One of my favorite songs by Marcy Baruch is “Inner Space.” I love listening to it in the car going to and from places. It settles me into my own inner space where there is only peace and love. Here are the words and link to the video. Marcy is singing at a Unity Center.

PREVIEW 4:59 Marcy Baruch – This Inner Space
This Inner Space
Words and Music by Marcy Baruch
“This inner space has the pow’r to set me free, it’s the cavern of creation and the truth of you and me.
This inner space, an eternity of time, It’s the moment of the holy now and the Allness that is mine.
This inner space contains all that I need, from deep within the invisible flows the living air I breathe.
This inner space is flowing in my bones, it stirs my heart, it stirs my mind, and ev’ry pray’r I’ve ever known.
And, I say breathe, just breathe, now breathe, this peace.
This inner space is the ocean of your soul, and when you feel most broken the truth is, you are whole.
This inner space, connects us one to all, and though it would never push you,
it will break down ev’ry wall.
And, I say breathe, just breathe, now breathe, this peace.
This inner space invites us to renew, in all my endless choosing I become the chosen too.
This inner space, it never knows a past, in a quiet place you can hear it and it might just make you laugh.
So, I say breathe, just breathe, now breathe, this peace of this inner space.”

Breathe….. Just Breathe

Who Is Your Teacher Today?

Dear Friends,

Who is your teacher today?
I was reading an article by Peter Bolan in the ‘Unity Magazine’ where a huge COYOTE appeared behind his house one morning. His dog set off the alarm with loud barks and growls. Peter saw a healthy coyote outside his back fence. There is high chaparral and a lake beyond. Peter lives in the San Diego area like Steve and I do, so I can relate. We hear coyotes howling late at night or early in the morning. We often see them running across our street since our house backs up to hills and valleys. As Peter watched the coyote he asked himself questions.
“What would it be like to be free from plans, desires?
What would it feel like not to have to make excuses?
What would it feel like to live in harmony with current conditions rather than wanting things to be different?…
Great teachers don’t tell you what to think. They help you ask
better questions.”

Everyday we have a chance to meet our animal and nature teachers. When we are open and receptive we have a teachable moment and mindset. When we start looking for teachers, we find them everywhere. On my walks, TREES are my teachers. They grow sturdy, yet flexible so as to bend and sway with the wind, instead of being blown down or breaking every time a storm brews. How flexible are you in these current times? Are you flexible with the flow, or are you digging your feet in the ground? Can you keep growing in your faith, yet be flexible and “Open at the top,” as Ernest Holmes writes?
In the morning I often hear BIRDS. Their sweet little souls create the most beautiful songs. I know it is a way for them to communicate with each other and I also believe they sing for pure delight and pleasure. Their singing reminds me to do the things I love to do. My question is, are you doing what you love to do, or are you doing what you think you should do?

I was reading the book, Medicine Cards, the Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals. Here are a few beautiful teachers.
TURTLE – ” Turtle buries its thoughts, like its eggs in the sand and allows the sun to hatch the little ones. This teacher is asking you to develop your ideas before bringing them out in the light.” Are you trying to develop something that has not been fully thought out?

BUTTERFLY – “It is the mind, and the ability to know the mind or to change it. It is the never-ending cycle of self-transformation.
Egg stage: Is this a thought, idea?
Larva stage: Is it time to make a decision?
Cocoon stage: Am I developing my idea to make
it a reality?
Birth/Butterfly stage: Am I sharing my completed idea?”

RABBIT – “The rabbit tends to be skittish and fearful. What are you fearful of? Stop talking about horrible things, and the ‘what ifs’. Write them down if you need to and breathe into them and then give them away.”
Ernest Holmes said, “Let go of fears into the nothingness from which they came.”

FROG – “Seeing a frog may remind you to describe your condition. Are you tired, overloaded, frustrated, guilty, nervous, at a loss? Time to take a break and bathe in a long relaxing bath, disconnect the phone, and take in deep cleansing breaths… Replenish your spirit, body and mind.”

HUMMINGBIRD – “Sings a vibration of pure joy. Plants and flowers live because of Hummingbird. Life is a wonderland of delight – darting from one beautiful flower to another, tasting the essences and radiating the colors.” If you see a Hummer, ask yourself, am I bringing joy and delight to others? Am I bringing out the BEST in others. Am I journeying to my highest ideal?

Teachers come in all forms, human, animal, nature and the Divine Voice within. Listen, be aware and mindful of the natural signs of wisdom.
We are here to learn. Life is our best teacher.

Who are your teachers today? Be open at the top, be receptive and discover joy and happiness, love and delight in all you do.

Open and Teachable,
Abigail and Steve
