Stand Firm in Your Prayers

Dear Friends,

I love the quote above. We know water, in its gentle easy flow and in its fast and furious pace, will in time change rocks, mountains, and the earth’s surface. With erosion, the ground around a river changes. The ocean waves change the seashore. Water is persistent, never failing to know its purpose.

I believe prayer is like water. The continuous prayers we say, no matter how hard or resistant a situation or person is, will change the outcome. We must never lose hope or give up on our prayers and affirmations for the world, for ourselves, family, friends and others. The human condition is inherently resistant to change of any kind, yet change is a given. We may not see results of our prayers, however outcomes are always in the NOW of Spirit. We must trust the Divine Timing and Outcome of God. At the end of our prayer treatment we always say, “This or something better.” We, from our point of view, may not have access to the BIG picture, however God does. Once a prayer is said or an affirmation made, the mold is formed and what ever action needs to take place is doing so and flowing behind the scenes.

Prayer is also like a theater production. Before the audience sees the end result on stage, the writer must come up with an idea, propose the idea to producers, find the right director, actors, musicians, and then practice the performance. Your prayers, visioning the outcome, and keeping the desire in mind, helps to continue all the action behind the scenes.

Stand firm in your prayers. Don’t give up. Know God has already set in motion, like water, to create the highest and best outcome for all involved.

“Sometimes a prayer takes time to manifest, and sometimes the universe has a slower pace than you or I.” – Deborah Perdue, RScP

Being the Good

Dear Friends,

“I am standing strong on my mountaintop of all good, giving and receiving all the abundant blessings of life, including peace, joy, prosperity, health, love, creativity and harmony. This mountaintop is on a bedrock of faith and trust with a gentle breeze of grace and ease blowing.” –
Emma Curtis Hopkins (May Science of Mind Magazine)

I loved reading this quote and read it several times to fully embrace the meaning. I was looking out over the hills in the back of our house and imagined standing on the hills and looking over the countryside. I did feel a sense of peace and all was right with my world. Reading this quote and affirmation truly states how we all can feel and be when we just allow our faith to be strong and stand on our belief in the Universal Life Principles (love, joy, compassion, peace, oneness, unity) which never wavers regardless of human thought or action. GOD, Life, Universal Energy is always working FOR us , not against us. The Universal God, Spirit, Holy Mystery is always GOOD – GOOD and very GOOD. That is the energy and vibration I choose to live in and with whether I imagine myself on a hill, mountaintop or here on level earth going about my daily purpose.

We can read the paper and get upset, angry, irritated , fearful, OR we can read the paper and see an opportunity to Bless people, see the good in them, know they are God’s children living life from a different point of view….
Those who appear to have lost touch with their God-ness, need prayers to help them remember who and what they are.
Spiritual Beings having a human experience.
People rise to the level in which we see them.

Today let us be and give goodness to all we meet. Let us accept goodness from all we meet. Let us know we are already filled with abundance, peace, health and prosperity. As we give, so shall we receive ( smiles, kind words, actions, tithes, donations to our spiritual centers & charities).

Bring people with you on your mountaintop so everyone can be the best
and see the best view of the world.

Peace Begins with the LIGHT in Each Person

We know there is POWER in Prayer, POWER in intentions, POWER in action.          This Saturday at the Labyrinth Walk we will be gathered in a sacred circle
to raise the consciousness and vibrations of the world through prayer. We will be connected to the collective of all Labyrinth walkers that day
and others praying and affirming Divine Intervention, Divine Peace and Justice throughout the world. With all of us in the ONE MIND, we can
shift the consciousness of the planet. Prayer with intention is “Purposeful action.”

An Old Chinese proverb says,
“If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation.
If there is harmony in the nation , there will be peace in the world.”

PEACE IN THE WORLD,
BEGINS WITH THE LIGHT (PEACE) WITHIN EACH PERSON!

“Today I remember that nothing is greater than God, the one presence and power in the universe. I pray that I may know this great power
as my own, as part of my divine birthright. I use my power wisely to speak up for what I believe is right, to be strong for someone who
feels weak, to be brave when others feel afraid. I draw my power from a deep well of faith that the nature of God is all good and that
adversity will wither under the light of truth.
My power keeps me strong in God.” (April Daily Word).

Peace and Light,

ROOTED IN LOVE

Dear Friends,

Steve and I attended a wonderful one day virtual ANTN (Affiliated New Thought Network) conference last week. The theme was “A World Rooted
in Love.” We heard inspiring words, spectacular music, and participated in many interactive breakout sessions.
Here are some inspiring thoughts:
Recognize the Living Spirit is within each person.
All journeys are unique and needed. Yours too!
There is nothing separating me from you. We are ONE.
Turn your attention to the Inner space within you. That is where you live.
30% of what we say, think and do influences the world.
BE the Living, Shining Example.
Keep raising your Consciousness to grow and spread your wings.
The most important relationship is with ourselves. – Nurture Self Love

Steve and I brought INTERFAITH into the mixture. We shared ALL faith traditions are Rooted in Love. That is where each one began. Each avatar, prophet, messiah, holy man was the living example of LOVE. Every word expressed came from LOVE (gratitude, joy, compassion, kindness, oneness.) These faith teachers were NOT of the faith. They taught the Universal Principle of LOVE.
Christianity began with the worship of Jesus, who was a Jew.
The Lutheran Faith began with Martin Luther, who was a Roman Catholic.
The Methodist Faith began with John Wesley, who was an Anglican.
Baha’u’llah was not a Baha’i, Buddha was not a Buddhist, Confucius was not
a Confucian, Krishna was not a Hindu, Mahavir was not a Jain,
Lao-Tzu was not a Taoist.
If humankind had only taken the teachings which emphasized LOVE, not doctrine or dogma, we may not have so many wars between religions and countries.
GOD created us out of LOVE.
We all need to return to LOVE..
LOVE is the Highest Power and Good in the Universe.
Love for our family, friends, and people we do not know.
“Love turns strangers into friends.” _ Rev. Jacqui Lewis
Love for those who hurt us.
Love for all humanity.
LOVE sent out, always comes back around.
Let us ROOT our lives each day in LOVE. Let us be mindful of our thoughts and actions. When a challenge comes up, ask yourself…
How can I be loving in this situation?
How can I be loving to this person?
How can I be kind and speak gently?
We do not have to love the person’s actions. We can love the GOD in each person. For it is the essence of GOD within all that connects us, and roots us in LOVE.

Rooted in Love,
Abigail and Steve

GIVE for the sake of Giving

Dear Friends,
“Tammy Loya organized 14 of her friends to go to breakfast and each agreed to pay $100 for the bill in order to leave their waitress a sizable tip. When their server saw the 15 $100 bills, resulting in a $1,335 tip, she burst into tears. What the breakfast group didn’t know was their server’s husband had just been diagnosed with cancer, and the couple had medical bills to pay. The tip allowed her to pay their bills and buy a few Christmas gifts. The waitress planned to use the leftover money to help someone else.”
(Science of Mind magazine April 2022)

I loved reading this story which reminded me of times I gave more than the 20% tip at a restaurant. Some years ago, Steve and I were having lunch at a well known restaurant, and we were engaging our waitress in conversation. This particular young waitress shared how she was looking forward to the summer when she could spend time in the Peace Corp. Steve and I decided we wanted to help, so we gave her an extra $100 to use in this selfless endeavor.
Of course she was stunned and started to cry. We both felt so good to be able to help this lovely young lady. To this day, we do not know what happened and it doesn’t matter. At the time it was the right thing to do.

Just recently I had lunch with two friends of mine and we always go to the same restaurant and our favorite waitress always serves us. We just love her. She knows us and welcomes us and always remembers our favorite food and drink choices. Her happy face and sweet personality always makes us want to come back there. As we engaged her in conversation, she told us it was her birthday that day. When she finished taking our order, we decided to pool our money and give it to her in addition to a tip for her birthday. It was my turn to pay the bill and I chose to give her a 40% tip as a birthday bonus. I did not tell the other ladies I did that. Needless to say our sweet waitress was a bit overcome and appreciative, with tears in her eyes. She kept saying, “You don’t have to do this…” And of course we did! And we were happy to do it!

There are times in our lives we just want to help another person out by monetary means. When called to do so, do it! We (Steve and my friends) never thought of gaining anything in return.

Our purpose in life is to love, serve, give and forgive others. There is the Karmic saying, “What goes around comes around.” The more you give, the more you receive. My mother always told me, “When you do good things, you get good things.”

We all want to give to world wide organizations like the Red Cross, humanitarian organizations, and especially now to help the Ukrainian people, which is wonderful and needed. For today, think about how you can give generously to those in your community.
BIG TIP for your favorite waitress/waiter at a restaurant.
Bring clothes that no longer serve you to the Good Will, Salvation Army stores. Be sure the clothes are in good condition and think about how the person will feel wearing it. Homeless and those who are in financial crisis want to feel good about what they are wearing just as you do.
Check out the organizations that provide clothes for those looking for jobs after being incarcerated.
Have a bag ready with non-perishable food and cash in your car to give to those who are asking for help on the streets.

There are so many ways to GIVE. When an idea comes forth from your heart and mind, give generously. Not only are you helping others, you are helping yourself.
Give with JOY
Give without strings attached.
Give without knowing the outcome.

Loving and Giving
Abigail and Steve

EASTER

Dear Friends,

Easter Joke:
“Fr. Richard Carton, associate, pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, was speaking to a group of second graders about the resurrection when one student asked, ‘What did Jesus say right after He came out of the grave?’ It was a question of great theological importance, but Fr. Carton had to explain, in words suitable to his young audience, that the Gospels do not tell us just what He said. The hand of one little girl shot up.
“I know what he said Father,’ she insisted.
‘And what was that?’ asked Fr. Carton.
“TAH-DAH!” the girl exclaimed. (Holy Humor- Any Fisher, Denville,
New Jersey)

I loved this story because of the sweet enthusiasm of the little girl.
Who knows, maybe in Jesus’s consciousness he did think “TAH-DAH!”
Here I AM, Risen, and Alive! We are in the midst of the Holy Easter Week. Christians all over the world are celebrating the original story from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday. New Thought people also celebrate with a different perspective.

Jesus the Christ is a man of God Consciousness, the Great Way Shower, the Great Example, not the great exception. We do take to heart his words,
“What I do – you can do also,” and “Ye are Gods.” The Divine lives in as, as us, moves through us because we are Divine. We are spirit first, birthed from the essence of God, Universal Life Energy, the Source, by whatever name you wish to call IT, the ONE Who Began it all!.

Easter Week, in a nutshell, from the perspective of New Thought:

Sunday, RISE IN HUMILITY
Jesus makes his way into the city of Jerusalem riding on a donkey modeling humility.

Monday, RISE IN CLEARING OUT OUR TEMPLE
Jesus cleared out the temple where all kinds of seedy transactions were going on. It was not a sacred place to worship. This represents the clearing out of fear, hate, greed, gossip, ego, unworthiness from our Temple/Consciousness.

Thursday, RISE IN FOLLOWING OUR PURPOSE
At the Passover supper with his disciples, Jesus knew Judas was going to betray him and told him to go and do what he needed to do. Judas thought if the soldiers came, Jesus would show his true powers to stop them. Jesus would not and did not. He remained true to the Divine Plan for his life.

Garden of Gethsemane – RISE IN LOVE
In time of sorrow or trial it is always a time for prayer and contemplation. When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, Peter cut off one of the soldier’s ears. Jesus healed it saying, “Love your enemies and pray for those who
persecute you.”

Friday – RISE IN FORGIVENESS The Trial and the crucifixion.
On the cross, Jesus said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Even betrayers push us forward to do what we came here to do. Everyone is part of God’s plan.

Sunday – RISE IN KNOWLEDGE OF ETERNAL LIFE
The Resurrection! “TAH-DAH The moment of Truth, there is no death.
How would the people in ancient times know, unless someone came back to show them.

The Easter Cross in New Thought also means we RISE IN CONSCIOUSNESS
The vertical piece of the cross represents our Consciousness Rising.
The horizonal piece represents us crossing out our negative choices, low consciousness and poor behavior.
It is a time for NEW Beginnings, better choices, and greater understanding.
Life is Everlasting.

Easter Reminds us to:

Rise in Humility
Rise in Clearing Our Own Temple
Rise in Following Our Purpose
Rise in Love
Rise in Forgiveness
Rise in Knowledge of Eternal Life.
Rise in Consciousness and New Beginnings.

The SUN Rises in the East
The SON Rose on Easter.
We are sons and daughters of God, we are here to RISE too!

Rising in Consciousness,
Abigail and Steve

The Golden Key

Dear Friends,

“The answer to every problem already exists in the Mind of God, and you are in the Mind of God, and the Mind of God is flowing through you this minute.” Ernest Holmes

I loved reading this quote in the Science of Mind magazine this month. In my early meditation and prayer time I reflected on its meaning and how true it is.
Every problem or challenge I have had in my life, when I turned to God within, the answers appeared, not always in the way I wanted or even in the time frame
I imagined. However my prayers were always answered!!!
Emmet Fox in his booklet “The Golden Key,”
says the answer to all prayers is:
“Turn away from the problem
and think about God.”
This seems like such an easy solution and yet our human minds cannot always comprehend the simplicity of such a statement. Our Master teacher, Jesus the Christ,
said to be as little children in order to enter the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom meaning the Consciousness of God. So when we turn away from concerns such as ill health,
challenging finances, toxic relationships…. we think about the Wisdom, Intelligence, Love, Compassion, Truth of God. We enter into God Consciousness, the Kingdom.

Years ago when Steve and I had the “Child Centered Church” a mother and son would always attend. After a Sunday lesson on “The Golden Key,” the mother called me a
few days later and said her son really remembered the lesson. He was playing in a park sandbox with many of his little trucks and cars. He would bury them, then find them. When his mother said it was time to leave, he began gathering his trucks and cars, and one was missing. He looked and dug for awhile and his mom said they really had to go. Apparently he closed his eyes and ‘thought about God.’ When he opened his eyes, he knew exactly where the car was. He put his hand in the sand and pulled it up! His mother was amazed.
He said, “I just thought about God, and I found my car!”

I loved this true story and know no matter how little or BIG we think our issues are, GOD is BIGGER, Wiser and All Knowing. Today, think about God, keep your mind on God,
see God in all people, places and things.
Remember:
“The answer to every problem already exists in the Mind of God, and you are in the Mind of God, and the Mind of God is flowing through you this minute.” EH

I guarantee you will have a Beautiful, Mindful, Divine day!”

The Mind of God in me, as me, is me,

LIFE EVERLASTING

Dear Friends,
This past weekend I had the honor of sitting by my friend’s bedside as she begins her transition from earthly live into her heavenly life.
It was difficult to realize we will not be laughing, or talking anymore, and sharing stories.
I sat with her praying both out loud and in silence. I shared with her some experiences I have had with those who have crossed over because
I believe they wanted me to know they are alive and well. I also spoke of memories we had together with Steve and her husband. Just this past Fall
we celebrated their 40th anniversary and we flew in Hawaiian leis. She could not travel anymore to Hawaii so we brought Hawaii to her.
The poem above is one Steve and I have used at Celebration of Life memorials.
Reading it helps us and others know in our hearts that life is eternal. As our friend prepares to leave her physical body,
we know there are many others waiting for her with open arms, smiles and joy on the other side of the veil.

Another favorite memorial poem is THE ROSE BEYOND THE WALL”

I love this poem because after my father died, a rose bloomed in my garden in the winter and it never had bloomed at that time of year before.
I do believe it was him saying, I am fine and it is beautiful here.
I am knowing our dear, beautiful friend is the ROSE, and is gently moving into the space we call the other side so she can shine her light brilliantly there, as she did here.

FLING Out Your Prayers

March 29, 2022

At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities.” – Jean Houston

” The one who dares to FLING their thought out into universe intelligence with the positive assurance of one who knows and dares to claim all there is, will find that it will be done. God will honor their request.” – Ernest Holmes, ‘Creative Mind’

Dear Friends,

I read these quotes from the ‘Science of Mind’ magazine one morning and loved the idea of FLINGING prayers into the Universe! How often do we sit in a chair and pray quietly? I do every morning. The ideas of FLINGING my prayers into the universe was exciting and appealing. I went out onto the balcony and spoke my prayers out loud and they were flung into the universe!!!

I remember doing that very same thing years ago, standing on my balcony and speaking my word (words and thoughts are prayers) out into the universe asking for a LABYRINTH to be built here on our property. Then the MAGIC happened. My first thought was, I need to clear the backyard of an old rusty swing set and some stored tables and chairs. I walked back into our house and looked at a local newspaper and there was an ad for “Haul Away Anything!”
I called right away and much to my surprise, the man said, he could come out immediately! We negotiated a price and before noon that day, the backyard was cleared! Steve was attending a graduation and when he got home, I said go out on the balcony and see a surprise. He did and said, “Where did everything go?!” I explained, and with that, his architectural mind went into gear and he designed our labyrinth, which we have today. In a week or two we had made many trips to the Rock quarry and hand picked the rocks to create the labyrinth paths. We purposely left part of the circumference open because we wanted to have a Blessing Ceremony for the labyrinth, where people would bring their own rocks with dedicated blessings to surround the labyrinth.
The SPEED of creating the labyrinth from FLUNG WORDS in the universe to the ceremony was incredible. It was only a matter of weeks from start to finish.

I realized I fling prayers every time I go somewhere in the car. God goes before me preparing my way. and I am always safe and other cars around me too.
I fling prayers out into the grocery store when the line is backed up and we need another checker. In a matter of minutes a person shows up and I am usually the recipient of the hand wave to come over to his/her counter.
I fling prayers out to the universe on my walks.

TODAY FLING your heart felt, most wanted prayers out into the universe and allow the flow and speed to occur. Be ready and be prepared to be amazed!

LOVE IT and BLESS IT

LOVE IT and BLESS IT

March 15, 2022

Dear Friends,

I was reading the article “God’s Ambassador of Love” by Darrell Fusaro
in the March/April Daily Word. He shared how in his life he went from job
to job and kept being disheartened with each, and eventually stopped being productive. A wise friend told him,
“Unless you learn to love the job you currently have, you’ll have the same miserable job for the rest of your life.” Wonderful advice!

Emmet Fox wrote, “What you think upon grows. Whatever you allow to occupy your mind you magnify in your own life.”

Darrell took his friend’s advice and was committed and disciplined to “loving his job.” He looked up the word ‘discipline’ and found it meant , “A disciple of Love.” He decided to express love and BE an Ambassador of love to everyone
in his work and daily life. He was committed to reading spiritual literature in the mornings with his cup of coffee which put him in the mindset of love and blessing. He read, “Bless a thing and it will bless you. Curse a thing and it will curse you.” Not only did he love everyone, he blessed everyone. He said his life was transformed.

Being an Ambassador of Love, and Blessing everyone and everything in our daily lives, will help to change the circumstances as well as change ourselves.
If we can’t truly love a fellow worker or associate, or even a family member,
we can surely bless them. That blessing will be felt deeply. I know when I say “bless this person, or bless this situation, I am affirming Divine Good is happening right now.
I bless the firemen and medics as I see them rushing to the fire or medical emergency. I bless those who need assistance. I say God is in charge and taking care of this with compassion, grace and ease. Love and Blessings go hand in hand. The more we bless, the more our heart opens to love. The more we love the more we become a blessing for others.

Jesus the Christ told us to love God, love our neighbors, love ourselves and love our enemies. In other words, LOVE EVERYONE and everything, no exceptions. And again, if we cannot love our enemies yet, we can begin to BLESS them. To bless someone means to ask for God’s favor and protection. To me that is well on the way to loving someone.

Mark Twain said, “Love your enemy, it will scare the hell out of them!”

Love and Blessings works for challenges, crisis’s and events that are not pleasant.
Co-worker who tends to create havoc in the workplace.
A person who shares misinformation about you or others.
A health challenge.
Not only will a situation change, you will change within because every crisis is
an opportunity for knowledge and learning.

Be a Blessing, Give a Blessing
Be Love, Give Love
