Nothing is Too Wonderful to Happen

Dear Friends,
Years ago, while a ministerial student, I had a theme song, “Nothing Is Too Wonderful to Happen.”  I was thinking about that song and two major events that just took place in Steve and my life. Even in the midst of all that is going on, miracles happen and God as Good is always flowing in and through all.
We officiated at a beautiful wedding Oct. 10th for a  beautiful young woman and her fiancé living in North Carolina.  It was our first virtual wedding. This young woman has scoliosis and has been in back braces, special chairs and did exercises for years to help decrease the curve. However the pain never went away. She had a groundbreaking spinal surgery one year ago and through the pain of recovery and rehabilitation she has come out on the other side strong, happy, pain free and secure. It was our honor to co-officiate at her wedding.
Nothing is too wonderful to happen.
Nothing is too good to be true.
Nothing is too good to last for ever
Every thing is possible to God through me and you….
We became grandparents on Oct. 12th. Our daughter, age 40, and her beloved are now parents of a sweet little baby girl. We are all so excited and happy. We almost lost faith and hope of becoming grandparents, and yet here we are!
Nothing is too wonderful to happen.
Nothing is too good to be true.
Nothing is too good to last for ever
Every thing is possible to God through me and you….
There is nothing GOD cannot do through me and you.
What is it you are praying for?
What is it you are hoping for?
What is it you think may never happen?
God’s timing is  always right.  Some people in our New Thought tradition do not use the word HOPE because it implies one has little faith or doubt.
Sometimes hope is all we have when the end is not in sight, or the road is bumpy and long.
Our minds can change the THOUGHT about HOPE.
H – HOLY Being
O-  I know I am OF you. Your DNA is in me.
P –  All Things are POSSIBLE with You
E –  EVERYONE, including me, is filled with Divine Possibilities
Holy One Pour your Energy in me.
Holy Spirit Of All People is Everywhere.
Happiness is Everywhere about us
So let us all happy be
There are no dark clouds to frown upon us
The sun will shine wherever we may be.

To the left, To the right
Look around, See the light
If it’s smiles you spread, then it’s smiles you’ll meet
And a song in your heart puts wings on your feet.
Nothing is too wonderful to happen.
Nothing is too good to be true.
Nothing is too good to last for ever.
Every thing is possible to God through me and you

Harm No One

Happy October!  This is the month of Halloween and the Pagan Holiday Samhain.
I want to introduce you to a colleague  and friend of mine, Rev. Devra Gregory,  a Wiccan High Priestess, Alchemist, Ritualist, Healer, Massage Therapist, Drummer.
She was one of our presenters at the NAIN 2017 Conference.  She is writing a chapter for Steve’s new book and I asked her if I could copy part of her chapter for this newsletter.  I truly believe all faith traditions are important and the Pagan/Wiccan one seems to receive the least amount of attention and has been abused and misunderstood in the past.
It has a deep caring for ALL Beings and love for Mother Nature.
Thank you Devra for helping us have a greater insight into the Wicca tradition, which has many similarities to New Thought.
I believe:
“When knowledge is shared,
awareness and understanding become greater.
  Myths, and misconceptions are dissipated,
and barriers of fear melt away.”

-Rev. Dr. Abigail Albert

In Wicca The Goddess is the primary Deity with her consort being the male form of God. He is in service to the Divine Feminine, the creator of life. Women are accepted into Spiritual Leadership roles and may lead in other types of Pagan ritual. The term “Pagan” as well as “Witch” has had incorrect connotations attached to them. Pagan means “people of the land” or county folk. Witch comes from the Gaelic root wic or wiz meaning “to change.” Wizard also comes from this root meaning. So, what is magick? (magick with a “K” distinguishes it from stage magic) Magick is changing matter with ones focused will. In quantum physics we see that matter actually does undergo a pattern change when influenced by intentional, focused thoughts. Our thought sends out a spark of electricity and is not contained just inside our heads, but flows outside of us, too. We are all floating in a sea of vibration, in fact WE are vibrating energy. Humans are magnificent energy generators and receivers. In practicing magic, a Wiccan understands how important it is to control their own thoughts and consciousness, to direct the outer realm. Wiccans know that thoughts are “things” and the more focused the intention, and, the more we raise our energy up in natural ways like drumming and dance the better our prayers/spells land. Spells are really just prayers with some extra “bling.” Herbs, incense, charms, candles and other gifts from nature are used in a sacred way, utilizing each’s unique frequency to be synchronistic with the intention of the ritual. Witches do in fact create change. Healing is change, releasing unproductive habits and thoughts is change, shifting from the ego mind to the heart centered soul is change. Many other religious practices utilize this information, they just call it something else like manifestation or even miracles. So, when someone says “be careful what you wish for” they are reminding you of the powerful magic of your thoughts!
Wicca has no book of law only guidelines for the way we live our lives. The one basic tenant called The Wiccan Rede states, “Let it harm none, do as thy wilt.” In other words, do what you want just don’t hurt anyone else: it’s the golden rule. There is also the law of three- What you send out returns to thee by all the power of 3. This is the law of cause and effect, AKA Karma in the Hindu tradition.
Like other indigenousness cultures from all over the world, Wiccans accept there is life force in everything and each has its own vibratory pattern: plants, rocks, gem stones, herbs, trees and each of us, too. So, respecting all of life and honoring the miracle of nature is paramount to a Wiccan. We are peace loving, nature worshiping, Goddess/God Loving (not fearing) people.”

Turn Up the Voice of Spirit

Dear Friends,
At this time in the world, when fear permeates the air, with news and social  media, we need to turn that volume down and turn UP  the volume of Spirit in our heart to love, live life with joy, and happiness.
We need to get back to basics and KNOW:
1. God is all there is. Peace, Power, Love, Wisdom, Intelligence, Guidance, Goodness,  Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omniactive, Omniloving EVERYWHERE in all and through all.
2. All that God IS reigns within me/us. That peace, power, love, wisdom, intelligence guidance and goodness  is always available within us, ready to be heard and felt. When we accept this Truth we are connecting with our own Divinity and Uniqueness.  We are all loved equally regardless of faith, culture, race, politics or country.  We each have our own path and choices to make.
When we rely on the inner Wisdom and Direction of our own Spirit (God,
Source, Creator) we can easily move into action when directed.
The still small voice (God intuition) within is ready to be heard.  When our world is quiet and meditative. we can hear it.  Listen for it everyday.  There are times when we have not listened to it, and we say “Dang, I knew I shouldn’t have done that or gone that way.”
Today turn UP the God volume,
by turning down the TV, radio and other media.
Listen to what is YOURS to do today.  It will bring you happiness, joy and
you will feel fulfilled and purposeful.
Turning UP the Volume of Spirit Within,
Abigail and Steve

Bringing the Light

” He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain,
for the old order of things has passed away.”
-Revelation 21:3 (NIV)

September 22, 2020
Dear Friends,
The other day I sat down to my computer to make a few edits on the talk I was going to give on an Interfaith Women’s Panel during International Peace Week.
As I clicked to SAVE, it wouldn’t save and kept saying my document was a READ ONLY.  I checked my emails and couldn’t send or receive.  It was only a few hours before I had to get on to the zoom call and my computer seemed to be stuck or stopped. Now What!!!??? Almost panicking, I called my “go to techie friend” Don, and his simple reminder was to shut down and REBOOT.
Duh!  Why didn’t I think of that.
This reminded me that right now our world, our earth, our people are in a REBOOT. We have shut down during this pandemic because of the flaws, errors, glitches in our human system. However looking at the world and all the trauma, anger, and the divisiveness I had forgotten there are so many GOOD people in the world doing wonderful works and being in loving service.  YOU and so many people around the world are truly bringing LIGHT,  LOVE and the GREATER GOOD back to this planet. Your care for others is switching on the LIGHT and REBOOTING our planet and our people. For LIGHT always eliminates darkness. LOVE for others is always the answer. That is the truth.
The old thoughts, and systems, are passing away. The new thoughts and equity for all is happening. We as a human race are changing. We cannot remain as we were.
People in every system are looking at ways to make changes for the greater good, in education, police reform, government, businesses, banks, and more. YES, there are still those who are fighting to keep the old ways, however we know change cannot be stopped.  BE the Change. REBOOT whatever system you are a part of and know you are being Guided to do what is right for one and all.
Here is a beautiful video created by the Franciscan Peace Center Sisters.

What Are Your Highest Ideals for America?

Dear Friends,
What are your highest ideals for America, the world and humanity?. We know what you think about, you bring about.  God gave us a creative mind and the free will to use it. We have the responsibility to use it wisely. The energy that goes out from our thoughts and our feelings creates our reality and the reality of others.  We truly do contribute to each atom, cell and molecule of everything on our planet, our humanity and the universe.  When we truly believe we can make changes with our hearts and minds, it will come about.
I attended ‘One Heart One Mind CSL’ service last Sunday.  I loved the story
Rev. Michelle Ingalls shared.  “Villagers came together to pray for rain. Everything was dry and they desperately needed rain for everything to grow.  Once they were all assembled the prayers began.  Then a small boy appeared in the group. He was the only one who had an umbrella.”  He truly believed it was going to rain.  How much faith and belief do we have in these turbulent times?
Can you believe and affirm...
I am healthy, safe and responsible. I wear my mask for myself and others.
My family and friends are healthy and safe.
I see only GOOD coming from this pandemic.
I believe the new vaccine will work and available now!
(Declaring, & believing ahead of time signifies faith and belief, just like the little boy with the umbrella.)
Add your personal declarations of faith to this list…
The Higher our Ideals, and Values are, the closer we are to using  and being our Christ /God Consciousness.  The more we claim these High Ideas and Values the more High Energy vibrates out into our personal world and the universal consciousness.  We are all connected.  Myth says when a butterfly flaps its wings there is a storm somewhere else on earth.  We must truly realize our impact on our society and the world.  Each one of is here to make a difference.  The tools we have are our internal thoughts, God Intuition, Guidance, feelings and action.
Focusing on the Highest and Best in Life,
Abigail and Steve

Change and Gratitude

Dear Friends,
Change and Gratitude.
I was in a place of deep gratitude one morning, thinking about my life, my past, and my present.  Every experience I had moved me forward and brought about a change in my life. These changes brought a shift in consciousness. Change and consciousness go together.
I am grateful for the time I spent in the 1990’s  discovering New Thought, being mentored by my minister/teacher Dr. Juanella Evans, going through classes, meeting other ministers and then meeting Dr. Steve and creating our own ministry in 2000.
Steve and my ministry evolved and changed from being a child centered church to family oriented to Interfaith based.  This became the basis for our purpose and focus from 2006 to the present day. As part of our ministry, we were one of the founders of POINT Interfaith Team. POINT evolved and changed from being an educational organization to including social justice activities and events.  We expanded our work by attending the NAIN (North American Interfaith Network) and the Parliaments of World Religions Conferences.
Over the years, we enjoyed the time we spent visiting with our daughter and her little dog Zoe (who recently passed away). Now we  look forward to spending time with our daughter, her beloved Glenn and a sweet baby girl coming in October.
All things change.
Over the years, we were somewhat estranged with our son, and now even though we disagree politically, we have reconnected. All things change.
Ecclesiastes 3
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted…

Yes, there are times I miss some of the “Good Ole Days,” however those days,
that season, my shift in consciousness brought me to where I am today.
There was a purpose for every path,  a time for every turn,  and a season for every decision I made.
BE GRATEFUL for all CHANGES in your life.   There is a reason for every season.
Make today a beautiful memory, so you can look back and say:
I was grateful for what I had.
I was kind to all I met.
I stopped to smell a rose, call a friend, be a good neighbor.
I followed my heart and the strings of my soul.
I lived purposefully doing what I love to do.
I did at least one thing that made a difference in the world.
I AM GRATEFUL for my past, all the wonders, joys, and heartaches it brought.
I AM GRATEFUL for the present and the changes that brought me here today.
I am making wonderful memories today in which I can look back 10 years from now, and be joyful.
Today is a new day. Create a new memory.  Live, love, laugh and be grateful!

Daily JOY

Dear Friends,

In the mornings I love to read my spiritual magazines/books to help me start off the day in the highest possible way. Today I was reading some inspirational quotes and I would like to share a few with you.
In these troubling times I believe we could all use a purposeful word, joyfilled phrase or thoughtful reminder as our guide while we move through our day.

From the August Science of Mind magazine here are are few favorites:

Today is a fresh beginning, a new start and a joyous adventure on the pathway of eternal progress. Today is bright with hope and happy with fulfillment.
-Ernest Holmes

Thoughts are like arrows: once released, they strike their mark. Guard them well or one day you may be your own victim.
-Navajo Proverb

God speaks to us in the Qur’an saying that He will not change our condition until we change what is in our hearts and souls.
-Saleemah Abdu-Chafur

The moment we cease to hold each other, the sea engulfs us, and the light
goes out.
-James Baldwin

We must continue to be aware of our thoughts. Are they are stinging or kind?
Are our hearts filled with contempt or compassion? Are we embracing all others, alike and different than ourselves? Only when we do, we can then truly find hope and joy in our daily lives.
Holding onto anger or irritation does not keep us safe, healthy or change the world. If we want to change the world, let us begin to change ourselves.
Go Deep:
Why do I dislike people different than me?
Why am I angry with those whose philosophies are different than me?
FEAR of listening to a view different than your own…
FEAR due to an old tape from childhood…
FEAR of the unknown and change….

Let today be a different day, a new day, a new thought, a new feeling living with a new declaration:
I am happy and fulfilled today. I believe All people have their place in the sea of humanity. All are my brothers and sisters regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, love preference, political preference.
I am, and we are all connected in the family of God.

In the world of bodies, we are all separate. In the world of Spirit, we are all one.
-Marianne Williamson

Interfaith Awareness Week a Success!

Dear Friends,

Interfaith Awareness Week was a HUGE Success!  We had so many wonderful organizations which put on inspiring programs, prayer vigils and events.  People stepped up their technology ability with Zoom, on Facebook Live or their Website Live, recording the event and even putting people in breakout rooms for further connection and discussion.
We saw the Oneness expressing in all  the beautiful unique faces showing up either as wonderful speakers or enthusiastic participants.  Even in this pandemic, where we are to socially distance and wear masks, we have creatively discovered a way to BE Together, TALK Together, SHARE thoughts and experiences with each other.  As Steve often says, “We are not alone!”
This is so true.  Where ever we are GOD is, and all is well. God showed up in the faces and voices of many people this past week. We all felt truly connected.
The Closing Program had people from all over the State of CA and the USA.
Having online programs has given everyone an opportunity to “travel by computer” to events, happenings and being with loved ones. We don’t have to rely on cars and airplanes to get us to a conference or a weekend program.  Humans are discovering NEW ways to be and do, and it is good.
All Faiths, All Over CA (San Diego, Los Angeles, Encino, Pasadena, Carmel,
Culver City) and the Country (Virginia, Boston) were on the Closing Program.
People shared what they were doing in the Interfaith arena and how important
it is to be involved at this time in our country’s history.  We were  privileged to have Ruth Broyde Sharone, the creator of Interfaith the Musical’ with us and watch a performance of one of her songs by Cantor Lori Frank and members of the Temple Adat Shalom choir. We ended with people saying inspirational verses on a shared screen with the title  “Rainbow for the World: Interfaith.”
(See quotes above)
We encouraged everyone to write their congressman and ask them to get on board with CA Congressman Scott Peters when he presents the bill declaring the second week in August “Interfaith Awareness Week,” a National Yearly Celebration.

Beginning a New Chapter

Dear Friends,

“… It is time to turn the page and begin a new chapter.”
(Science of Mind Magazine, August 12th Daily Guides)

I always like to read the Daily Guides in the SoMM. The quote above stayed with me because I really feel I am turning a new chapter
in my life and we collectively as humans are beginning a new chapter in our human evolution.
In the midst of this pandemic,
I am and we are opening our hearts and minds to a new way of looking at our life, our systems and structures.
I am, and we are reading books, gaining information and changing the way we view ourselves and others.
I am and we are SEEing our differences and are beginning to appreciate the various life experiences people have that are unlike our own.
I am and we, who are white, are listening now and recognizing the White privilege we have living here in the USA.

Our Next Chapter
Will show we are no longer hiding behind the old habits and ways of
doing things.
Will be setting up new ways of acting and reacting to people.
Will be restructuring the systems we are a part of to exhibit equality and opportunity for all.
Will be helping one another to a greater extent. When we help one, we help all. When we stand up for one, we stand up for all.

“Today is a fresh beginning, a new start and a joyous adventure on the pathway of eternal progress.
Today is bright with hope and happy with fulfillment.”
Dr. Ernest Holmes

I am and we are beginning to really SEE our oneness with each other.
I am and we are turning a new chapter in our human history and evolution.
I am and we are living in exciting times. Let’s step into the next chapter with joy, gratitude, fortitude and purpose!

Stepping into a New Chapter,
Abigail and Steve

Finding Commonality

Most Intense Human Chain Ever Rescues Dog Stranded in Canal | The Dodo

Copy paste this title above on your browser and watch a short
but inspiring video.

The first time I watched, it made me cry. All these strangers came together to help a stranded and scared dog who was about to be swept away at the edge of a torrent canal. The first man down almost lost his balance while trying to secure the dog. This is a heartwarming rescue.

After I saw the video, it reminded me how when we work together, regardless of race, nationality, political persuasion etc. we can be in service and do great things. Our focus is on selfless service, or SEVA. We work as a team and have each other’s backs. I thought, perhaps, no matter how opposite people view life, when there is a worthy cause, it pulls them together in brother and sisterhood. It brings opposing people together for a common cause.

Think about this idea when upset, angry or mad at a family member or co-worker. We cannot change people’s minds when they are adamant about their point of view. However working together on something NEW may just be the glue that can bring people together again. We need to stop trying to change people’s views and work on finding ways to come together in full cooperation and collaboration. Leave the opposing views outside the door. When inside we work together on a common project.

Finding Commonality,
Abigail and Steve
