Dear Friends,

I put on my new prayer beads this morning and felt a sense of joy and peace. Putting on prayer beads is part of my ritual during my morning prayers and meditation.

Some months ago I had a different set of prayer beads. I loved them and have had them for years. Sometimes when my granddaughters are over they like to put them on and wear them while they are here. I thought that was wonderful. The beads prayer energy was on them while they played. Then one time after they left, I could not find my prayer beads. I looked everywhere. I called my daughter to see if the girls had taken them home. She could not find them. And so I still looked…..

I finally realized I was not going to find them. Nothing is lost in God, that I know. However what is meant for me is always with me or will come to ne at the right time and place. I decided to purchase another set of beads which I did. These were different and represented different faiths. I love my new interfaith beads.

I had them on one morning as I read the ‘Daily Word.’
“I place my trust in God and live securely. The things of the world will always come and go. Change is a constant. If I base my sense of security and trust around my material possession of world status, I may feel shaken if I lose them.

But when I place my trust in God as the one presence and power in the universe and as my divine center, I am putting my trust where it truly belongs.”

Wow! Change is a constant. My old beads left and new beads came. However did I really need them? NO. Using them in a morning ritual is wonderful, however did I really need them? NO. All I need is God. Sometimes in our faith traditions practices the rituals become more important than the Truth. God is all there is. I don’t really need the rituals.

They make me feel good and yet all I need is my communion with God in the mornings. God is the Source and answer to all prayers. I can and do call upon God during the day, in the car, at the kitchen window, in a moment of concern, when I hear a siren. I don’t have my beads with me and I know God has already answered my prayer in the moment.

I am sharing this with you to remember GO directly to GOD when in need. You need nothing else. Rituals are wonderful for peace, serenity of soul, however everyone has a DIRECT LINE to GOD because God is not out there somewhere. GOD IS WITHIN hearing and knowing every thought and feeling and answering your prayer right NOW.
