SPRING is NEW GROWTH!

Dear Friends,

Spring is here! I hear birds singing and see flowers beginning to bloom. The grass seems greener and there is a new fresh fragrance in the air. I know our friends on the East coast are happily awaiting warmer weather and the blessings of Spring.

SPRING is a time of growth and renewal and this newness isn’t always easy.

The seeds we plant under ground, in order to grow, have to push their way up to the surface. They become beautiful flowers, plants and/or food. It takes strength to grow and survive. The little birds hatching have to break through their shells in order to continue to grow and become who they are just as the plants.

Years ago, when I taught Kindergarten, my teacher buddy and I got duck eggs from a farm on a field trip. The children were excited when we brought them back to the classroom to watch them grow. We provided all the right environment and lighting to keep the eggs warm. When it was time for them to hatch it took hours. We would watch a little crack come first, then there seemed to be a rest time. This would go on for hours. When the little ducks finally hatched they were wet and tired and had to rest. It was not easy growing bigger and stronger. They knew they could not stay in the shell, safe and comfortable. GROWTH takes strength, courage and hard work.

We, as humans are continually growing, whether it is physical, like children, or spiritual. Children sometimes have growing pains because their bodies are adjusting to new growth and well being. As adults we are always growing intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Sometimes it is painful and hard work. Anything NEW, an activity, job, relationship takes strength and courage to move forward and experience it. Sometimes we want to stay put in our old and comfortable ways. However our very existence requires bravery to go forth, learn, grow and experience something NEW.

The Daily Word says, ” I pray for inspiration and the zeal to act upon it I then listen for any guidance and follow it, even if I find it surprising or a little daunting. This is how I grow, by pushing myself past comfort into new areas of discovery and endeavor.”

Today, if there is something you are being guided to try, pursue and experience, listen to that still small voice. SPRING into it, with the knowledge God is the Source of this inspiration and GOD within you KNOWS how to do it and what to do. You are never alone with new ideas, new activities, new jobs, new relationships!

HAPPY SPRING. HAPPY NEW ADVENTURES. HAPPY GROWTH!
