KINDNESS WEEK

Random-Acta-of-Kindness

Dear Friends,

I heard on the news this is “Acts of Kindness Week.”

Many schools and children in the San Diego area are truly embracing this declaration.  As I was reading the “Science of Mind” magazine this morning it too was referring to “Small Courtesies” and small kindnesses.  It said “small kindnesses should be routine…a frequent behavior.” Practicing kindness embraces ONENESS. Kindness is the energy of LIFE sharing and being as ONE entity. I am ONE with you and you are ONE with me.  When we forget this truth and our alignment with the ONE GOD, One Life, One Mind, we tend to forget to Live a life of Kindness, compassion. Being in service is taking the time to be mindful of our brothers and sisters in need. As part of my morning spiritual practice I will include this affirmation;

Today I will mindfully do One Act of Kindness.

I know what goes around comes around so I am expecting an absolutely Glorious day filled with joy and happiness!

And so it is….

SOLIDARITY

Muslim Woman praying

This Hijab, This mark of Piety, is an act of faith,
a symbol for all the world to see…”

Dear Friends,
We celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Day all over the United States on Monday, January 18th.  It is a joy to know what an impact his spiritual non-violent philosophy has had on our country. Our country consciousness has risen to one of more respect, friendship and equality with people of all color. However we still have a ways to go.
Also on Monday there was a wonderful rally in  San Diego to raise the consciousness of people concerning the Muslim community and especially the Muslim women who feel so uncomfortable being in the public eye.
SOLIDARITY SOLIDARITY SOLIDARITY…
was the continued mantra at the:“Gathering in Solidarity with Muslim Women”
event at Balboa Park on Monday, Jan. 18th, 2016.
Channel CW6 reported  it at the 10pm news. Rabbi Laurie Coskey was the MC and there were over 400 interfaith people, both men and women, showing support of Muslim women who wear the traditional head scarf and/or hijab. Imam Taha Hassane was there sharing how women in his congregation were afraid to go out. Many are being harassed, spoken rudely to or being accused of terror.
Rev. Dr. Abigail was there and stood with the clergy in solidarity.
It was wonderful to see so many in support of our sisters.

When you are in a store or public place and there is a Muslim woman, talk to her and let her know you support her and the Muslim community. Offer assistance if she is being harassed.   We must stop this uncalled for hatred and misunderstanding before it escalates further.

Gathering in Solidarity

GATHERING in SOLIDARITYmuslim-women-business-coaching2

January 12, 2016
Dear Friends,
I was saddened to see on the news, a  Muslim woman by the name of Rose, asked to leave Donald Trumps political rally. What people said to her and accused her of as she was escorted out was at the very least insensitive, disrespectful and unkind.  Incidents like these remind me of the Old West when lynch mobs were formed due to misinformation, hate and hysteria. It also reminded me of the Klu Klux Klan ,the Nazis,  and what is going on in Africa.  Have we learned anything?  Why are we not following the message of the Master Avatars from all religions?
Love, Peace, Forgiveness, Compassion?
On Monday, January 18th, at 2pm, I will be joining women from many faith traditions to stand up with and for my Muslim sisters at a peace rally in Balboa Park. Imam Taha Hassane from the Islamic Center of San Diego said the women in his congregation are terrified to go out in public anymore.  We  will be showing our solidarity by wearing scarfs on our heads.
If you are in the San Diego area please join us at 6th and Laurel Streets.  (See below for more info)
Let us NOT let the actions of a few muddy the water for the majority.
A Salaam Alaikum

CHOICES

Happy New Year Happy New YOU!

I was talking with my minister friend, Dr. Kathleen Johnson, the other day, and we explored the idea of choice.   Sometimes when a person tries to explain an action he or she may say, “I really didn’t have a choice….”    I don’t agree.
WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE.  When a person is involved in a situation he or she doesn’t like, what actions or choices can he or she make to create the highest and best for all concerned?
My friend was telling me a story about a man who always gets up in the morning with a positive attitude, making positive choices.
Here is the story in nutshell…
Jerry always has a positive attitude. He is a restaurant manager and his staff like him so much they follow him from restaurant to restaurant. Jerry wakes up in the morning and makes a choice to be in a good mood or bad mood. When something bad happens he finds the good or lesson in it. When a staff person complains, he helps them have a positive outlook and choose to learn something. Once 3 robbers came into the restaurant with guns. One shot Jerry. He was taken to the hospital and he saw the looks on the medical staff’s faces. They were looks as if he were a dead man. At that moment he made a choice to live. Before he had surgery the nurse asked him if he was allergic to anything. He said “bullets.” In the surgery room he asked the doctors to operate on him as if he were going to LIVE. He recovered and months later he said, “If I were any happier, I would be twins.”
What a beautiful inspirational story.
•How do you want your day to begin and continue?
•Where do you want to put your thoughts, actions and choices?
•What energy choice do you want the world to feel?
•What energy choice do you want to have come back to you?
Today in this New Year, make the choice to USE the Divine Universal Energy  to inspire and uplift  others as well as yourself.
Choose to Have a Happy New Year
and you will have a ….

Happy New YOU
